Multiplying by 10
Move all digits one place to the left, add a 0:
45 × 10 = 450
123 × 10 = 1,230
Multiplying by 100
Move all digits two places to the left, add 00:
45 × 100 = 4,500
123 × 100 = 12,300
Dividing by 10
Move all digits one place to the right:
450 ÷ 10 = 45
1,230 ÷ 10 = 123
