🎯 What You'll Learn

You will solve word problems that involve sharing things equally among people.

🏪 Market Story

Tunde's grandmother gives ₦150 to be shared equally among her 5 grandchildren. Each grandchild gets ₦150 ÷ 5 = ₦30. But Funke asks, "What if there are only 3 grandchildren visiting?" Then each would get ₦150 ÷ 3 = ₦50. Fewer people sharing means more for each!

📝 Let's Learn

Fair sharing word problems always ask: "How much does each person get?" You divide the total by the number of people.

Example 1: A class of 8 students collects ₦40 for a teacher's gift. If each student pays equally, how much does each pay? ₦40 ÷ 8 = ₦5 each.

Example 2: Amina picks 36 flowers and divides them equally into 4 vases. 36 ÷ 4 = 9 flowers per vase.

Example 3: 3 children share 21 crayons equally. 21 ÷ 3 = 7 crayons each.
