The English alphabet has 26 letters. Here they are in order:

A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

The small (lowercase) letters look like this:

a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z

Five of these letters are special — they are called vowels:

A, E, I, O, U

The other 21 letters are called consonants.
