🎯 What You'll Learn

You will listen to a set of steps and put them in the correct sequence (order).

🌟 Let's Start

When you follow a recipe, you must do things in the right order. You cannot eat the food before you cook it! Today, Grandma is teaching us to make jollof rice. Listen carefully to the steps.

📚 Grandma's Recipe

Grandma Nneka is the best cook in the family. Everyone loves her jollof rice. Here is how she makes it:

Step 1: First, Grandma washes the rice in clean water. She washes it three times until the water is clear.

Step 2: Next, she blends the tomatoes, peppers, and onions together to make a smooth paste.

Step 3: Then, she puts oil in a big pot and heats it on the fire. She fries the onions until they are golden.

Step 4: After that, she adds the tomato paste to the pot and cooks it until the oil floats on top. This is called "frying the tomato."

Step 5: Then, she adds water, salt, and seasoning cubes to the pot.

Step 6: When the water boils, she pours in the washed rice, covers the pot tightly, and turns the fire down low.

Step 7: Finally, after about 30 minutes, the rice is done! Grandma opens the pot and the delicious smell fills the whole house.
