🎯 What You'll Learn

You will learn to find the difference between two numbers — how much more one number is than another.

🏪 Market Story

Chidi has ₦85 and his friend Tunde has ₦60. Chidi asks, "How much more money do I have than Tunde?" The difference is ₦85 − ₦60 = ₦25. Chidi has ₦25 more than Tunde.

📝 Let's Learn

The difference between two numbers tells you how far apart they are. You find it by subtracting the smaller number from the bigger number.

Key words that mean "find the difference": "how much more," "how much less," "how many more," "what is the difference."

Example 1: Amina scored 78 and Bola scored 65 on a test. Difference: 78 − 65 = 13 marks.

Example 2: A shirt costs ₦150 and a cap costs ₦80. The shirt costs ₦150 − ₦80 = ₦70 more.

Example 3: Emeka is 12 years old and his sister is 8. The age difference is 12 − 8 = 4 years.
