🎯 What You'll Learn
You will put all your addition skills together to solve a market shopping challenge with multiple items and prices.
🏪 Market Story
Tunde has ₦500 and goes to the market. Here are the prices he sees:
- Rice (small bag): ₦180
- Beans: ₦120
- Garri: ₦90
- Palm oil: ₦150
- Tomatoes: ₦60
He needs to buy rice, tomatoes, and palm oil. Can he afford all three?
📝 Let's Learn
Let's help Tunde. He needs to add: ₦180 + ₦60 + ₦150.
Step 1: ₦180 + ₦60 = ₦240.
Step 2: ₦240 + ₦150 = ₦390.
Total: ₦390. Tunde has ₦500, so yes, he can afford it! He will even have ₦110 left over.
Example 1: Amina buys beans (₦120) and garri (₦90). Total: ₦120 + ₦90 = ₦210.
Example 2: What if Tunde buys everything on the list? ₦180 + ₦120 + ₦90 + ₦150 + ₦60. Add step by step: 180 + 120 = 300. 300 + 90 = 390. 390 + 150 = 540. 540 + 60 = ₦600. He can't afford all 5 items with ₦500!
