🎯 What You'll Learn

You will learn to ask questions using the words who, what, and where.

🌟 Let's Start

Questions help us learn new things. When Emeka wants to know something, he asks a question. "Who is that man?" "What is for dinner?" "Where is my bag?" These question words are very powerful!

📚 New Concept

Question words:

  • Who — asks about a person. "Who is your teacher?" "Who cooked the food?"
  • What — asks about a thing or an action. "What is your name?" "What are you doing?"
  • Where — asks about a place. "Where do you live?" "Where is the market?"

Examples of questions and answers:

  • "Who is your best friend?" — "My best friend is Bola."
  • "What is your favourite food?" — "My favourite food is jollof rice."
  • "Where is your school?" — "My school is on Broad Street."

Questions end with a question mark (?) instead of a full stop.

🎮 Let's Practice

  1. Which question word would you use to ask about a person? Make a question about your mother.
  2. Which question word would you use to ask about a place? Make a question about Lagos.
  3. Answer this question: "What is your favourite colour?"
  1. Who. Example: "Who is my mother's best friend?"
  2. Where. Example: "Where is Lagos?"
  3. Answer in a full sentence: "My favourite colour is ___." (any colour is correct)

💡 Remember

Who asks about people. What asks about things. Where asks about places. Questions end with a question mark (?). Keep asking questions — that is how you learn!
