🎯 What You'll Learn
You will learn action words (verbs) — words that tell us what someone is doing.
🌟 Let's Start
Look at the children in the school compound. Tunde is running. Funke is jumping. Emeka is eating his lunch. Bola is reading a book. All these words — running, jumping, eating, reading — are action words. They tell us what people are doing.
📚 New Concept
Action words (verbs):
- Run — to move your legs fast. "The children run on the field."
- Jump — to push your body up into the air. "The frog can jump very high."
- Eat — to put food in your mouth and swallow it. "We eat lunch at noon."
- Sleep — to close your eyes and rest. "I sleep at night."
- Read — to look at words and understand them. "Amina likes to read books."
- Write — to make words with a pencil. "Please write your name."
- Walk — to move on your feet, not fast. "I walk to school."
- Play — to have fun with games or toys. "The children play football."
